Laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis with the CO2 laser with excision of the lesions is the gold standard surgical procedure for endometriosis.  This patient was suffering from chronic pelvic pain for 6 years, frequent visits to the ER.  Appendectomy was also performed since it is very common to find endometriosis on the appendix or mesoappendix.
